I love Halloween, its the one time of year when everyone gets to dress as something totally bizarre and different. Something that no normal person would wear on a regular day. This year my husband and I are Vampires! We were fortunate enough to find some cool looking costumes last minute, today haha. He got his at Party City and I got mine at Hot Topic. Paid a pretty penny for it but it was well worth it. I actually got some really awesome heels there for 50% off! And the best part is I can wear these shoes on a regular day. I'll post some pictures of our costumes and these wonderful shoes tomorrow...that is if I'm awake at all tomorrow. This is a picture I took earlier today of my vampire teeth, pretty cool huh?
Reason being why I most likely will be sleeping all day is that I am currently at an all nighter at PC Gamerz, which goes from 9pm-8am! Woohoo! Time to start chugging some redbulls, or maybe I'll got with the new Monster Dub. Its actually really good, to me the regular Monster has a little bit of a bite to it (haha no pun intended) where as the Dub is a nice smooth and some what fruity drink. Really good, if your a Monster fan I would recommend it :)
Well I'm going to get back to being my nerdy self and start playing WoW (Word of Warcraft for those who don't know). Leave some love, and please share with your friends! Peace Out Ya'll!

Taking a Stand
I have had enough with bullying!! My little brother is being bullied by a few 8th graders at his school. My mom has tried to talk to the principal about it, and he only tells Bryce (my brother) that "they will leave you alone from now on". That is not going to do anything!! If anything it will make things worse and those kids will blame him for getting in trouble at school and possibly with their parents. Speaking of which where are those kids parents in all this? Why don;t they put a stop to this nonsense? Bullying can get out of hand, and I hope thats not the case with my brother.
I've decided to try and create awareness of the issue with bullying, so I started a cause on facebook. Please feel free to check it out, if your on facebook sign up for it. Also if you can please donate, all the money donated will be going to The Boys and Girls Club. I think its important that kids have a place to go to for after school activities. I use to go there and I loved the environment. Plus I think if kids have mentors and other people that they can look up to, maybe this can be a start to putting an end to bullying. Teach kids about being respectful and helpful in life.

On the Market?
There are so many ways people can make friends these days; at the mall, at a park, at school or work...on the internet...
Ah yes the wonders of the internet, I have resorted to finding friends on the internet because I am that much of a loaner! I have put up a post on craigslist and I have also signed up for a membership on friend finder... Oh how I have reached an all time low!
I have always been a social butterfly, but since I've moved out to Hawaii I've yet to make a single friend! I've been here for a year...I have a job but I don't really make friends with the people I work with, it usually ends badly for me. I have recently signed up for some classes at one of the community colleges here so maybe I can make some friends there. I swear I will go insane if I don't find some friends soon... I feel like I've turned into some crazy cat lady haha! Maybe not completely though, at least I'm married, but seriously I actually talk to my cats... talk about pathetic!
Well we'll see how thing "finding a friend" mission goes...
Peace Out!

Feeling Pathetic...
You know that there is something wrong when...
1. You have lived in Hawaii for a year and have managed to make no friends within that amount of time
2. You finally got a job, but they don't like you so still have a job but technically are not working
3. You know that you have health problems but no doctor seems to care enough to find out whats wrong
4. You spend your days off work...on the computer
....Yea I'd say something isn't right....

Pondering...
We've all done it at least one point in time in our lives. Asking ourselves the question of "what if?". Lately there have been a lot of those kinds of questions in my life. "What if I'd paid more attention in class?" "What if I took that full ride scholarship?" "What if I was still in California?". So many questions run throughout my mind about all the different possibilities that could happen or what has happened. I've been thinking a lot about where I would like to be in ten years. I come up with ridiculous ideas and outlandish dreams of one day being something, or someone that will be well known in history. My current fascination is becoming a doctor, whether that be in pediatrics, or just your basic family practice. I'm not sure which direction I'd go.
I often doubt my capabilities and determination about actually going to school and getting my degree. My biggest problem right now is that I don't know if I'm just fantasizing about someone else's dream, my husband's. He has known for the longest time that he wants to be a doctor. He loves medicine and wants to be surrounded by it, he wants to help and do some good in this world. I've always been passionate about helping people, and making them feel better as well. Now does that mean that I should become a doctor? No, I know that there are numerous other ways that I could fulfill my need to help others. I've always considered teaching, I wouldn't mind being a science teacher in high school. I would be that one teacher that seems very ADD and "out there", but I would make the classes fun and entertaining. I think thats the best way to learn, it was always like that for me. I had many boring teachers, and my grades showed that haha. All the classes that seemed humdrum I didn't o well in, the classes that I had loud, fun, and exciting teachers I always had good grades in those classes. I would want to be that kind of teacher.
So my questions are still buzzing around in my brain, "What if I become a doctor?" "What if I become a teahcer?"......Or there is another question that I can't seem to shake, "What if I become a stay at home mom?"! Hahaha, oh boy!
Well I suppose thats enough ranting for the day, I still have a lot of errands to run. EEP! Lol, Peace Out!

Getting a Tattoo
Just going to be completely honest anyone who tells you that a tattoo doesn't hurt that bad is a F***ing liar! haha tattoos hurt more so it certain places, especially the sides, elbows, shoulder blade...basically if your getting a tattoo that is going over a bone, its gonna hurt really bad. I only have two tats now, my first tattoo is on my lower back and that didn't hurt nearly as bad as the one on my shoulder blade. Some people are different (or just freaks of nature, no offense haha) where either it doesn't hurt that much, at all, or the pain of a tattoo actually turns them on! Hey, no judgement, to each their own right?

So I finally got another tat last night. I had some problems getting it tho, I went into shock! ("Like, really body? Really? We've done this before, and that one was bigger!") haha I got about half way through the tat and almost passed out so I'm going back to the tat shop tonight. I like the tattoo artists in there, or at least the ones that I have met so far. Its a pretty chill place. Its called Polynesian Tattoo Factory. They are clean safe and they do a fantastic job! My husband got his first tattoo there last night, and he took it like a champ haha. (unlike me haha) He got a Koi fish tattoo.
Getting a tattoo I would recommend getting something with meaning behind it. Something that represents you or a part of you. I would get a tattoo just to get one. It takes time and thought to decide what you want, where you want it, and also how much your willing to spend for it.Good tattoos are not cheap! Anyone will tell you that. If you have a friend with a tat gun in his garage who says they will do some work for you. Trust me don't do that! So many people do that and end up going to a shop asking to get whatever they got done fixed. Cheap tattoos suck, end of story haha.
Now caring for your tattoo, depending where you go the artist will recommend certain things. I have always been told that the first 3 to 5 days are crucial to having your tat heal right. You have to keep it moist, right now I'm using an ointment that is actually used for baby diaper rash called A&D. Its also recommended to use organic oils like Vitamin E, Olive Oil, Pure Cocoa Oil, things like that. After the first week you can switch from that to a non-fragrant lotion. I have always used Aveeno, it feels great and works great with tattoos. Another tip, DO NOT SCRATCH! You will totally F*** up your tat if your scratching at it. if it itches, just smack at it that way your not making it crack and it won't scare. I made that mistake with my first tattoo and its all messed up and scared.
Basically if your getting a tattoo, make sure you have a good idea of what your getting into. The time and effort it takes to get one and then take care of it while it heals. Well thats it for today, I'll let you guys know how the rest of the tattoo goes haha. Peace Out!

Amazing Coffee
I think it is important for couples to get out of the house on their days off and just wonder. Or you can actually make a plan if you need to. But anyway, Robbie and I went on an adventure yesterday. our first stop was this really cute restaurant that my mom and I stopped in while she was out here visiting. W e were actually driving up to North Shore, but I'm telling you those burgers are amazing! I might have to compare them to In'N'Out burgers. But theses were nice fresh off the grill thick juicy patties. I had gotten a Hawaiian burger (go figure) and Rob got a Cajun shrimp burger( your probably thinking "wtf?") haha. But both were so amazing and full of flavor! Robs burger, well it didn't have a patty. Of course it didn't need one with all the shrimp on it! It also had the regular works, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, etc.. But it was actually really good! My burger was smothered in sweet teriyaki sauce with grilled onions an pineapples! MMM so good! It seems every bite had this wonderful burst of flavor. The fries weren't much to show for, I think they may just use the "Big Bag'O'Fries" from the supermarket. But the burgers definitely made up for it! And so our journey continues to North Shore!
I love North Shore! There are so many cool beaches with crazy waves, especially this time of year. They are great for surfing (Ha! as if I knew how!). But there are also tons of " hole in the wall" type places. For example, there was this Shaved Ice place in Haleiwa North Shore and it apparently has the best in town. That line was ridiculously long. Had it not been so long I would have stopped and got some. We ended up driving through the town and ended up driving down a super narrow road, this was the main road for all the people living there...right on the beach!! We finally found a place to park and a path to go check out the beach, this place had to have been on of Hawaii's best kept secrets. That sand was so wonderful between my toes, and it was such a pretty golden color! The water was different shades of blue which was absolutely beautiful. And thinking about this place now I wanna kick myself in the ass for not bringing my camera!
We didn't stay too long, it was getting pretty late so we headed back to Haleiwa, and on our way back we found a little marketplace with cute shops where you find the most random(yet fitting) trinkets and knick knacks for souvenirs. There were also some art galleries and a couple well known shops like Rip Curl or Quicksilver. We did manage to find a wonderful little coffee shop in that place called the Coffee Gallery. Now I've had some good coffee but no lie this had to have been the best coffee I have ever had! Screw Starbucks! Haha! Rob ordered for me and we both got some iced vanilla lattes. Now I don't know about you but for some reason when I get these drinks I don't usually taste any coffee. The coffee is somewhat masked by all the random syrups and creamer put into the drinks. However, this coffee was so wonderful and so rich with flavor! My mouth is seriously watering just thinking about it! The coffee blend they used was a special in house brand, I wish I had bought some but they really were quite expensive for a little bag of coffee. But honestly I would definitely go back for more! I did manage to get a picture of this wonderful little place for you, along with a hysterical sign concerning unattended children. LOL Sorry about the picture quality, these were taken with my phone.
Well I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves today, but I'm off. Peace Out!

Ranting...As Usual
I've noticed lately that it seems my days are going by alot faster than usual. I feel as if I drifting into a daze and waiting for something exciting to happen. I'm waiting on my life to begin, but the problem is that my life has begun, and I can see it passing by. I need to get out of this dream world and enter into reality. I need to get my shit going with school, I need to get some where. Right now I have a wonderful loving husband and three crazy cats, so I'm not saying that my life sucks. I love what I've got right now, but I would like more to show for myself, in my case I want a good education...and something to look forward to. Like having a career that I love, and starting a family(well a bigger one anyway) with Robbie. So I will stop whining, for now hahaha, and get something done for once.
I know!! I'll do some research on Washington?! Sounds good to me, Rob and I are actually seriously considering moving there. Thats a big difference compared to Hawaii. Going from sunny paradise to...well Washington hahaha. UW is a great college to go to, Rob is thinking of going there for undergrad and maybe med school. Of course he can be a little ADD some times so he may change his mind and decide to go to Maryland! Eeek, I thought Washington sounded cold lol. There is a great military medical school up there, thats why he would want to go haha (He's not that ADD). Anyway, back to Washington. I just want to get more info about the schools, what kinds of things are there as far as jobs go. Also something to amuse me, I should probably start painting again. Painting would always entertain me. That, and it was a good way for me to vent. I actually have one of my first oil paintings hanging up in my living room, I absolutely love it :)
Well I'll leave you guys with a question, if you had to move to Washington, what would you do for entertainment, and what type of job would you want?
Thanks for reading, Peace Out! <3

Bad Dreams
I think one of the worst dreams any one can have, other than a giant monster chasing you and not being able to move, is losing teeth! I had one of those dreams last night and that was just weird! All i could remember from it was my front teeth felt loose so i went to feel them and they just fell out! AHH!! Its said in Greek culture that when you dream of loose, rotted, or missing teeth it means that a close friend or family member is really sick or close to death! Eek! I really hope that isn't the case! More than likely its from my recent job change, being nervous about the new position. Hopefully everything will go just fine, and hopefully I don't have anymore dreams about missing teeth! Sheesh! Til next time, Peace Out!
Introductions
Hey there, my name is Brittaney Quackenbush. I know its quite a mouth full! But just like my last name I am quirky and fun, and generally have a lot to say! I chose to start a blog so that could have a way to speak! And what better way to do that then on the internet where pretty much everyone will see it. This is more of an on line journal for me. Now I know what you might be thinking, "oh god this is just some lame ass girl wanting to talk about her period! ugh". Haha no I will not talk about stupid little things, I would much rather talk about life and the common things that happens everyday. I am an ordinary person, but there are many days when I feel extraordinary! Now I won't say too much because well the title of my blog is "Short and Sweet". So until the next time I write, Peace Out!
