Getting a Tattoo

Just going to be completely honest anyone who tells you that a tattoo doesn't hurt that bad is a F***ing liar! haha  tattoos hurt more so it certain places, especially the sides, elbows, shoulder blade...basically if your getting a tattoo that is going over a bone, its gonna hurt really bad. I only have two tats now, my first tattoo is on my lower back and that didn't hurt nearly as bad as the one on my shoulder blade. Some people are different (or just freaks of nature, no offense haha) where either it doesn't hurt that much, at all, or the pain of a tattoo actually turns them on! Hey, no judgement, to each their own right?

So I finally got another tat last night. I had some problems getting it tho, I went into shock! ("Like, really body? Really? We've done this before, and that one was bigger!") haha I got about half way through the tat and almost passed out so I'm going back to the tat shop tonight. I like the tattoo artists in there, or at least the ones that I have met so far. Its a pretty chill place. Its called Polynesian Tattoo Factory. They are clean safe and they do a fantastic job! My husband got his first tattoo there last night, and he took it like a champ haha. (unlike me haha) He got a Koi fish tattoo.

Getting a tattoo I would recommend getting something with meaning behind it. Something that represents you or a part of you. I would get a tattoo just to get one. It takes time and thought to decide what you want, where you want it, and also how much your willing to spend for it.Good tattoos are not cheap!  Anyone will tell you that. If you have a friend with a tat gun in his garage who says they will do some work for you. Trust me don't do that! So many people do that and end up going to a shop asking to get whatever they got done fixed. Cheap tattoos suck, end of story haha.

Now caring for your tattoo, depending where you go the artist will recommend certain things. I have always been told that the first 3 to 5 days are crucial to having your tat heal right. You have to keep it moist, right now I'm using an ointment that is actually used for baby diaper rash called A&D. Its also recommended to use organic oils like Vitamin E, Olive Oil, Pure Cocoa Oil, things like that. After the first week you can switch from that to a non-fragrant lotion. I have always used Aveeno, it feels great and works great with tattoos. Another tip, DO NOT SCRATCH! You will totally F*** up your tat if your scratching at it. if it itches, just smack at it that way your not making it crack and it won't scare. I made that mistake with my first tattoo and its all messed up and scared.

Basically if your getting a tattoo, make sure you have a good idea of what your getting into. The time and effort it takes to get one and then take care of it while it heals. Well thats it for today, I'll let you guys know how the rest of the tattoo goes haha. Peace Out!
