Wow! It seems like its been forever since I've last posted something. I have been in California for the past couple weeks visiting family so I didnt really have much time to update my blog so the next several blogs will be about my trip. Now bare with me because there are so many things I want to tell you!
I got out there around the 5th and got really lucky with the space available flight( I was actually on a real passenger plane and not a cargo plane this time lol). The plane itself only fit 50 passengers and it was full so that tells you how small it was...and cramped ugh. Not good for someone who is claustrophobic, like me! But it was an ok flight, I had watched movies on my ipod and slept a bit. It was definitely worth it though. When I got to the terminal the people there were not very nice at all! I won't say where just for my own personal reasons, but no one there was polite. It took me almost an hour to get to the front gate, there wasn't a bus or car or whatever else there that would take me. Although there was one van that took alot of people to the front gate, why I wasn't allowed on I'm not sure of. I ended up paying ten dollars for a 3 minute drive to the front gate! My Mom was waiting for me at the visitors center so I wasn't stranded any more lol. The drive back to Moms house was a long one, and it was already pretty late, I wanted to fall asleep in the car but I was too excited about being in Cali to sleep.
The next few days at my Moms were pretty chill, nothing too crazy going on, just visiting with family. I had heard that my Uncle James was going to be in Cali and I hadn't seen him or my cousins since I was 16, so it was really great that they came. They had stayed up until a couple days after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was a blast! I had actually convinced my Uncle to stay because I told him it would be the first time I would be doing Thanksgiving dinner, like cooking everything. Oh boy, I did not know what I was getting myself into! There were seven of us with just my Mom, brother sister, Uncle and two younger cousins, and myself. Plus I had invited my Uncle Bryan and Aunt Brenda to join us. When Brenda started asking me what I was going to do with the turkey and if I was planning on starting th night before, my face was "deer in the headlights" look! Haha. The more I thought about it the more I realized that I was going to need some help. Thank goodness my Aunt Brenda is a chef at heart! She helped me out so much and I must say that dinner was pretty good. Now we did have a 25lb turkey and it took a little longer than expected to cook it, so didnt eat until about 7:30 haha. But it was so much fun! I'm still pretty proud of myself for making such a great dinner. But if it wasn't for Brenda and her amazing skills there is no way that I would have been able to pull it off haha. Thanks Brenda!
My little brothers birthday was actually th day before Thanksgiving and that was an interesting day. Bryce had decided, after his big fat juicy In'n'Out burger Brenda had gotten him, he was going to become a vegan! So that meant no meat or dairy or anything that came from an animal. It was the day before Thanksgiving, his birthday, that he wanted to do this! My Uncle James had already bought a cake for Bryce earlier that day and it wasn't a Vegan cake. So the reason as to why he had this sudden change is because one of his friends is vegan, and so are this friends parents...Bryce is always over there. I'm sorry I will respect your beliefs and habits that you want and chose for you and your children, but to tell some ones kid that they need to do this other wise they are a bad person is not right. And quite frankly its none of their business! So that pissed me off. Bryce didnt hardly eat anything for the next couple days, he didnt even eat much of Thanksgiving dinner. Brenda and I had uses alopt of milk and butter and eggs so the only thing Bryce could eat was cranberry sauce basically. I had actually fibbed a little to get him to eat the yams and green bean casserole lol. Thank goodness though, my Uncle had taken me and the kids to go see my Dad, and he was able to talk Bryce out of changing his habits. Mainly for health reasons. Hes 12 and hes not going to know everything he needs to do in order to be a vegan and be healthy. Not saying its not possible, but my family doesn't encourage it.
Anyway, it was so great for the kids to see my Dad, and it was really good for my Dad too. I posted a lot of pictures, and a few videos from my trip on my Facebook. I had so much fun going out there to see my family. But its good to be home with my Hubby and my three crazy kitties.
I'll post a little more later on my trip to Cali and I'll put some pics up on here from my trip. Until next time, Peace Out!
