Rest and Relaxation

I love sitting at home enjoying a nice decaf coffee and yummy snacks. Its even better with a Smallville Marathon. I can't believe its taken me this long to get hooked on this show. Hope everyone else is having a nice day. Check out my second blog On The Move, I'm gonna be pretty busy with the move from Hawaii to Texas, so I may not be blogging much. So peace out for now : )

Tsunami in Hawaii....Or Not?

This whole tsunami bit is getting really tiresome, especially when it never happens. Don't get me wrong its good to be prepared for the worst, but I wasn't expecting too much. Since last year on February 27th there was a tsunami warning because of the devastating earthquake in Chile, although there wasn't much of a tsunami at all the water simply receded then came back to where it was before. Last night, or this morning rather, the tsunami did recede and come back with a little something extra. There were some damage to boats and docks but nothing really more than that. The waves were estimated to be about 2 meters high (6ft) but if anything they were only 1 meter (3ft). Its a good thing that we didn't experience anything devastating the way Japan did. My prays go out to those in Japan right now.
The local news stayed on it the entire night and right on for you guys because I couldn't make it past 5am! I was way too tired! Really hope all this clears up soon and that i can go out. I really don't like sitting at home. Although if this tsunami is that serious my apartment is the safest place I can be as of right now.
Be safe out there Hawaii, Pray for those who are suffering the brunt end of this terrifying natural disaster, and I'll keep and eye out for those on the west coast. Be safe everyone!

Yummy!

Some of the things I made when I was bored, and some things that I made (with some help) for Thanksgiving dinner. Enjoy! :)

First time making a pie!
Made my own dough for the pie crust!
Getting ready to add the apples

My cousin Abby was my little helper :)
Finished apple pie, didn't turn out the way I expected but the family said it was good :)

My first time making Deviled Eggs too, they were so nommy!! I made them again for Thanksgiving.

I made this Banana Nut bread too, I put a cup of walnuts in it instead of pecans.

Rubbing the turkey with some herb butter that Brenda made.

Making the stuffing, would have been better if we didnt go for a walk and come back to burnt stuffing after we put it in the oven! haha. All Well it was still alot of fun.

The finnished Turkey!!! It was so yummy!!!!

I'll post some more stuff later, hope you enjoyed these photos :)
Peace Out!

Catching Up

Wow! It seems like its been forever since I've last posted something. I have been in California for the past couple weeks visiting family so I didnt really have much time to update my blog so the next several blogs will be about my trip. Now bare with me because there are so many things I want to tell you!

I got out there around the 5th and got really lucky with the space available flight( I was actually on a real passenger plane and not a cargo plane this time lol). The plane itself only fit 50 passengers and it was full so that tells you how small it was...and cramped ugh. Not good for someone who is claustrophobic, like me! But it was an ok flight, I had watched movies on my ipod and slept a bit. It was definitely worth it though. When I got to the terminal the people there were not very nice at all! I won't say where just for my own personal reasons, but no one there was polite. It took me almost an hour to get to the front gate, there wasn't a bus or car or whatever else there that would take me. Although there was one van that took alot of people to the front gate, why I wasn't allowed on I'm not sure of. I ended up paying ten dollars for a 3 minute drive to the front gate! My Mom was waiting for me at the visitors center so I wasn't stranded any more lol. The drive back to Moms house was a long one, and it was already pretty late, I wanted to fall asleep in the car but I was too excited about being in Cali to sleep.

The next few days at my Moms were pretty chill, nothing too crazy going on, just visiting with family. I had heard that my Uncle James was going to be in Cali and I hadn't seen him or my cousins since I was 16, so it was really great that they came. They had stayed up until a couple days after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was a blast! I had actually convinced my Uncle to stay because I told him it would be the first time I would be doing Thanksgiving dinner, like cooking everything. Oh boy, I did not know what I was getting myself into! There were seven of us with just my Mom, brother sister, Uncle and two younger cousins, and myself. Plus I had invited my Uncle Bryan and Aunt Brenda to join us. When Brenda started asking me what I was going to do with the turkey and if I was planning on starting th night before, my face was "deer in the headlights" look! Haha. The more I thought about it the more I realized that I was going to need some help. Thank goodness my Aunt Brenda is a chef at heart! She helped me out so much and I must say that dinner was pretty good. Now we did have a 25lb turkey and it took a little longer than expected to cook it, so didnt eat until about 7:30 haha. But it was so much fun! I'm still pretty proud of myself for making such a great dinner. But if it wasn't for Brenda and her amazing skills there is no way that I would have been able to pull it off haha. Thanks Brenda!

My little brothers birthday was actually th day before Thanksgiving and that was an interesting day. Bryce had decided, after his big fat juicy In'n'Out burger Brenda had gotten him, he was going to become a vegan! So that meant no meat or dairy or anything that came from an animal. It was the day before Thanksgiving, his birthday, that he wanted to do this! My Uncle James had already bought a cake for Bryce earlier that day and it wasn't a Vegan cake. So the reason as to why he had this sudden change is because one of his friends is vegan, and so are this friends parents...Bryce is always over there. I'm sorry I will respect your beliefs and habits that you want and chose for you and your children, but to tell some ones kid that they need to do this other wise they are a bad person is not right. And quite frankly its none of their business! So that pissed me off. Bryce didnt hardly eat anything for the next couple days, he didnt even eat much of Thanksgiving dinner. Brenda and I had uses alopt of milk and butter and eggs so the only thing Bryce could eat was cranberry sauce basically. I had actually fibbed a little to get him to eat the yams and green bean casserole lol. Thank goodness though, my Uncle had taken me and the kids to go see my Dad, and he was able to talk Bryce out of changing his habits. Mainly for health reasons. Hes 12 and hes not going to know everything he needs to do in order to be a vegan and be healthy. Not saying its not possible, but my family doesn't encourage it.

Anyway, it was so great for the kids to see my Dad, and it was really good for my Dad too. I posted a lot of pictures, and a few videos from my trip on my Facebook. I had so much fun going out there to see my family. But its good to be home with my Hubby and my three crazy kitties.

I'll post a little more later on my trip to Cali and I'll put some pics up on here from my trip. Until next time, Peace Out!

A.D.D...Wooohooo....SQUIRREL!! Bwhahaha

Sorry I felt the need to put up an outrageous title for this blog. Why you ask?

Well.....BECAUSE I'M JUST SO FRICKIN EXCITED!!!

Haha, yup thats pretty much the gist of it. I'll be in California tomorrow morning.(eek red eye flight...boo!) lol But its well worth the uncomfortable 6 hours. :) Listening to my home towns country music station is making me even more excited about going out there and visiting, wow didn't realize how much I would miss it. Kinda funny now, since all I would ever talk about was leaving Cali and staying away...and I miss the crap out of it!! Haha

Sorry for my scatter-brained-ness haha I think I may have had too much caffeine this morning. Speaking of coffee, lately I've been drinking mine black...So strange to me. It tastes good though. I find it funny that the things we once were so use to are no longer appealing, like putting creamer in my coffee. Come to think of it, the last couple of time I had put creamer in my coffee I got a stomach ache. Who would have thought that I would ever drink coffee black... Weird how our habits change with our age. But thats ok cause I'm enjoying this black coffee and my wonderful dose of KFrog 95.1. For anyone who loves country music just Google KFrog and listen live. :)

Another thing that has caught my attention is the holiday season. It seems to me that everyone just jumps to Christmas before thinking about Thanksgiving. I see all these comments on Twitter or Facebook talking about how everyone is so excited about Christmas and they can't wait to decorate. I mean am I the only one who considers Thanksgiving? I think that its just as good as Christmas. Nothing is better than spending all day with the ones you love enjoying a fantastic meal :)..... I'm just saying haha. Ok enough ranting for today, I'll be sure to put some post up about Cali while I'm out there. Until then Peace Out ya'll!!

Traveling

So it has come to my attention that I am needed in California, and I will hopefully be there within the next oh lets say...48 hours?...ish... haha. No but really I'll be in California soon :)

I feel kinda bad about leaving my hubby here in Hawaii all by himself with our crazy kitties, but I'm sure he will survive hehe.....I just hope the cats will! haha jk. But I'm excited about going back to Cali and visiting, I've missed the family. I'm not going under the best circumstances, I won't vent on blogger about it since its personal, but it will be ok. I was in Cali in September while Rob was at USC for some trauma training with the military (that was a great experience for him), and its nice to go back again so soon. :) This time I'll more than likely be there for most of this month, so I'll have plenty of time with everyone.

But just wanted to keep ya'll up to date since I may not be blogging much while I'm out there. So, until next time Peace Out!
